Functions of Agency/Department:
The OC Health Care Agency (HCA) is a regional provider, charged with protecting and promoting individual, family and community health through coordination of public and private sector resources.
The Behavioral Health Training Services department under HCA provides education and training that promotes wellness, recovery, and resiliency to county professionals and to contracting community partners. As a Video Production and Editing Intern, you would be a part of the team creating training films including filming interviews, film editing, researching for developing online trainings, and other media duties for County staffs and contracted community partners.
Intern duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist with pre-production tasks, which includes researching of current online trainings, brainstorming content development
Film and edit video segments
Plan and perform video post-production tasks, which includes reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing
Utilize computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts
Compress video projects for output; make video products available in a variety of formats; and coordinate internal and external duplication services as required
Create relevant content emails to market upcoming trainings
Applicants must currently be enrolled in an accredited college/university and have completed at least 2 years of education and majoring in film, videography, media, visual arts/design or a related field; or be a recent graduate who completed their degree in one of the above listed fields of study.

Efficiently utilize time in executing assigned tasks neatly and accurately
Ideal candidates will have knowledge/experience in:
Various social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter
Editing skills with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, I-movie, or other picture/video editing software and Audacity (for audio), Camtasia, Adobe After Effects, Lightroom, and Articulate Storyboard
Flexible schedules are available that consist of 8-15 hours per week for 4 to 6 months. Hours must be scheduled during regular business hours (Monday – Friday between 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.). Interns able to schedule the maximum hours/duration listed for the internship typically gain a more in-depth experience.
