Effective Monday, July 20, 2020, the Clerk-Recorder Department will be closing its branch offices in Anaheim, Laguna Hills and at the Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana.
The department's office at the County Service Center in Santa Ana will remain open but only offer over-the-counter service for birth, death, and marriage certificates, all professional registrations, and real property document recordings. All other services will be offered by mail only.
Effective July 20, 2020, the following services must be requested via mail. No over-the-counter service will be available until further notice:

Fictitious Business Name
Purpose
To make available to the public the identities of those persons or entities doing business under fictitious business names. A business name that DOES NOT include the surname of an individual owner.
Who Should File?
Persons or entities doing business for profit under a fictitious name (does not include surname).
Where to File?
The statement must be filed in the county of the principal place of business. After filing in the county of principal, the statement may be filed in other counties.

Publication
The registrant must publish the statement once a week for 4 consecutive weeks in a legally adjudicated newspaper of general circulation in the county where the fictitious business name is filed.
The first publication of the statement must appear in the newspaper within 30 days from the filing date or it becomes obsolete and must be refiled as a new statement.
Note: A refile does not require publication.
