Clerk-Recorder Welcomes Fall Season with Another Successful Special Saturday OpeningThis past Saturday, Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen started the fall season with one of the busiest Saturday openings of the year. The department experienced a surge in demand for services during the department’s September Saturday opening. Staff issued 166 marriage licenses, performed 115 marriage ceremonies and over 800 guests came to witness their friends and family getting married. Customers also purchased 93 marriage certificates to top off a great day.
Orange County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen is launching a pilot program that will allow couples to pre-pay for their marriage certificates upon completion of their marriage ceremony. This program will only be implemented at the Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana and will only apply to couples who have a ceremony performed by one of the department’s deputy commissioners of marriage on site.
(Santa Ana, Calif.) - This July, the Orange County Clerk-Recorder Department reached a milestone in electronic recording history by surpassing 8.2 million electronically submitted and recorded documents. This milestone achievement maintains the department as a nationwide industry leader and is a testament to the department’s commitment to bringing the residents of Orange County fast and efficient services.
(Santa Ana, Calif.) --- Orange County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen announced the successful implementation of a new electronic Fictitious Business Name Statement (FBN) filing system. This new electronic system will make applying for Fictitious Business Name Statements more user friendly for business owners and will also reduce the duration of phone calls received by department staff regarding FBN issues.
