The Orange County Health Care Agency plans to open a new Super POD site at the Anaheim Convention Center, increasing vaccine dispensing capacity as more people are due to receive a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport decreased in December 2020 as compared with December 2019. In December 2020, the Airport served 231,033 passengers, a decrease of 74.1% when compared with the December 2019 passenger traffic count of 891,492. Commercial aircraft operations decreased 49.1% and commuter aircraft operations increased 12.9% when compared with December 2019 levels.
John Wayne Airport is excited to welcome two new commercial airline carriers and add several new nonstop destinations, providing increased service to our lineup and even greater options for travelers.Beginning February 12, 2021, Allegiant Air will begin service to JWA, flying nonstop to Boise, ID; Grand Junction, CO; Medford, OR; Missoula, MT; Provo, UT; Las Vegas and Reno, NV; and Spokane, WA.

Based on directive from the State, the Orange CountyHealth Care Agency (HCA) has suspended the use of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine lot041L20A due to possible allergic reactions under investigation by the Centersfor Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA),and the manufacturer. To date, the HCA has received zero notifications ofallergic reactions requiring medical attention due to any Moderna vaccines.
Following record setting turnout and shifts in voter behavior during the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election, the Registrar of Voters has released a report detailing voter behavior and survey data from the election.
Accuracy testing of Orange County's voting system will commence on February 16, 2021, and will continue until all devices have been included in the test. Due to the lengthy process of including all devices in the test, the Logic and Accuracy Test Tally may not commence until a minimum of a week after the test begins. The Logic and Accuracy test is required by law to be performed prior to each election. Logic and Accuracy tests will include proofing the programming of the ballot, each ballot style and each contest position on the ballot. The process is open to the public.
The County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA) is pleased to announce the availability of its Families and Communities Together (FaCT) platform annual report for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-2020, covering the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. The report addresses the critical role that FaCT and its network of 15 Family Resource Centers (FRCs) play in the County's efforts to ensure children in Orange County grow up in stable, nurturing families and safe, supportive communities.

On Tuesday, March 9,2021, the State of California announced that Orange County (OC) has achievedone week of improved metrics according to the California Department of PublicHealth's Blueprint for a Safer Economy, which takes a County’s seven-day adjustedcase rate, the seven-day testing positivity rate and the health equity metricinto consideration.

Orange County will conduct a post-election audit beginning Thursday, March 11, 2021. The post-election audit consists of a hand verification of paperballots cast in order to provide evidence that the outcome is correct.

Today, the County of Orange is opening a COVID-19 MobileClinic vaccination site at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove.
Beginning today, the Christ Cathedral MobileClinic will operate on three successive Wednesdays for first-dose Pfizervaccinations and three consecutive Wednesdays for second-dose vaccinations.Vaccinations are by appointment only and are scheduled from 9 am – 2:30 pm.
At the March 23 Orange County Board of Supervisors Meeting, the board unanimously approved the appointment of Francine Scinto to the Treasury Oversight Committee. Ms. Scinto joins a team of financial experts on the Treasury Oversight Committee, including elected Huntington Beach City Treasurer Alisa Backstrom, Richard Rohm, CPA and Partner of Rohm and Rohm CPAs, Gary Capata, CPA and Partner of CAPATA, County Executive Officer Frank Kim, elected Orange County Superintendent of Schools Al Mijares and Orange County Auditor Controller Frank Davies.
